We are pleased you decided to check out Royal Foundlings!! We are a band from Scotland who love sharing the Good news of Jesus with this nation and the rest of the world! We have been a band for about 2 years and what a 2 years its has been! We have seen God move in awesome ways and we have seen lives change because of His Love! Through this site you will be able to see what we are up to and most importantly what God is up to through us. Hello, I’m Scott
Hey everyone!
I’m Scott Macleod, the new bassist. The baby of the band (yes, younger than Andrew Gunning!).
This is a blog post about my first wee while with the band, and hopefully not the only one.
To give you an idea of how busy we all are at Royal Foundlings, here are a few facts:
1. My body-calendar is broken (I’m constantly a day out).
2. Dave’s actual body is broken. His back is in worse shape than he himself was a year ago.
3. I have purchased a real-life wallchart.
The first few weeks have been a blur, honestly. My first proper, full-band gig was at Port Glasgow high school, the most majestic moment of which was when the clocks fell off the wall during our first song. Despite this being only my first proper show, I immediately began to see the fruits of the ministry, reading positive and encouraging messages that night on Facebook from the young people we had performed for.
Skip forward a couple of days from that and we found ourselves travelling down toward Stranraer, to the lovely wee town of Newton Stewart, a beautiful part of the country that I probably would never have even visited were it not for being part of the Foundlings. On the way we got lost and ended up in Narnia, where it always snowed and red pigs, blonde horses and emus roamed free.

My mind has been tenderised somewhat by the constant onslaught of thoughts and things, so I’ll skip forward again to last weekend. On Friday we had a worship evening in the GLO centre in partnership with the Clyde Valley Community Church worship team, who were outstanding. It was fantastic. For me, looking up from the stage and seeing people worshiping God makes you realise really how big God is, and how worthy He his of our love.
The next day was a different affair. We had organised a concert in Holy Trinity Wester Hailes in Edinburgh with an upbeat, full-band Steph Macleod and El Mafrex, who as always was cooler than I can ever hope to be. In my own completely unbiased opinion (ahem), we rocked. We really rocked. In fact, I rocked so hard I broke my strap. Here’s a comic strip done in my favourite photo editing suite, Microsoft Paint:
Hopefully I’ll have more stage mishaps to amuse you all with next time.

Introducing Brian Macleod!!
Brian Macleod
DRUMS (from Jan 2013)
Brian Macleod is a recent graduate (1st Class Honours) of Edinburgh Napier’s BA Popular Music Degree Course. He goes under the name ‘The Church Drummer’ through his official website,http://the-church-drummer.com.
Born and bred in Stornoway, on the Isle Of Lewis, Brian started playing drums at age 11 and moved to Edinburgh to study in 2008. Before then, though, he found considerable success in his first band, Gaelic/Celtic Rock act Sunrise Not Secular, who went on to record 3 Eps and tour Scotland and Europe, as well as appearing on BBC Alba a number of times.
Since moving to Edinburgh, Brian has honed his skills and developed his style by studying and by being active on the Edinburgh music scene. He has been involved with a number of groups, including his own ceilidh band, The Macleod Ceilidh Band, which holds a fine reputation around Scotland.
Currently Brian is also involved with Christian act Steph Macleod, as well as Christian organisations Origin Scotland (which Brian appeared on BBC’s Songs of Praise with), CLAN Gathering, Scripture Union and New Scottish Arts. He is active in Holy Trinity Church in Wester Hailes and loves serving the local church.

One of Brian’s ambitions is to see young people raised up in their callings as beloved sons and daughters of the living God, giving all they’ve got for the name of Jesus. He loves the vision and passion of the Foundlings and is excited to be a part of the team.

Line Up Changes
Its with Sadness but excitement on both parts that we announce the Foundlings retirement of our epic Bass man Steven Adamson. As many of you know Steves other band The Kicks are getting as busy as us! and we both felt it right that he focus on the Kicks and take them full time!
There are two more chances to witness the awesome talent of this man. First is at Kilsyth Congregational Church on 11
and remember Steve, once a foundling always a foundling!
We would also like at this stage to announce another change in our lineup!!
In the meantime we would like to sincerely thank Shoogall for years of service past and for his continued support and involvement moving forward and also once more welcome Brian into our family.
